The AJC's Bill Torpy, who has a nose for the unusual, sends this note about crossing into the twilight zone:

Anyways, while chatting, I asked if he had watched the Oscars. He had, and he was disappointed with host Chris Rock bringing up race. Imagine!

Also, I asked who he's voting for in the presidential primary. "My vote will go for Donald Trump," he said immediately. Trump is saying things he likes about immigration, adding he won't vote for Rubio, "because he's an anchor baby."

But if Trump wasn't on the ballot, he'd be a Ben Carson guy, said Pemberton, who lives in Hiram but still votes in Alabama.

"Ben Carson is one of the greatest people you'll meet. Remember, we're not a hating organization," he said.
