Over at the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Chuck Williams has a Q&A with state Rep. John Pezold, a Republican from nearby Fortson, about his future prospects.

A snippet:

Pezold: "I would rather pass a kidney stone every day for the rest of my life, and I've passed a kidney stone before."

Well, there is another painful precedent.

Steve Grossman, a Massachusetts Democrat who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2014, was "in the throes of passing a kidney stone" during a 90-minute forum on gay and lesbian issues. It passed hours after the event, while Grossman - then the state's treasurer - was at an awards ceremony.
