Columbia, S.C. - Hillary Clinton staved off a strong challenge Saturday from Bernie Sanders in Nevada's Democratic caucuses, giving her a crucial win ahead of a round of votes in the South.

The networks and The Associated Press projected Clinton to defeat Sanders, who had proven an unexpectedly strong adversary in a state she was heavily favored to win.

A defeat would have been a bitter blow for her campaign after her 22-point loss to Sanders in New Hampshire and narrow victory in Iowa.

Instead, the win gives her a shot of momentum ahead of next Saturday's Democratic primary in South Carolina and the March 1 SEC Primary featuring votes in Georgia and seven other states below the Mason-Dixon Line.

Stick with us tonight as we watch the results here in South Carolina.
