The Zac Brown Band was full of surprises on Monday.

The Atlanta-based country superstars released the first single from their upcoming album – the band’s fourth studio effort – the breezy “Homegrown” (check out below) and also announced a new strategic partnership that sounds interesting, if confusing.

Brown’s own Southern Ground Artists has joined with Big Machine Label Group (home of Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line and new “American Idol” mentor, CEO Scott Borchetta), Republic Records and John Varvatos Records. Last year, fashion designer Varvatos – who certainly knows a few things about dressing music stars – launched his company in partnership with Republic Records.

The combination seems primed to bump ZBB to an even higher level of visibility, especially as the band continues to explore musical ideas as they did on last year’s “The Grohl Sessions, Vol. 1” with Foo Fighters buddy Dave Grohl.

“Homegrown” is also available for download via iTunes.
