Rush, as long speculated, is indeed hitting the road for their 40th anniversary tour.

The band will play 34 cities across North America, commencing May 8 in Tulsa, Okla., and swinging through town May 26 at Alpharetta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park.

Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 30 for $40.50-$149.50. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. Fan club pre-sales are available now.

Rush stated that the concerts will highlight their four decades of music and noted that this will likely be their last tour of this magnitude.

While the tour ostensibly celebrates the 40th anniversary of drummer Neil Peart joining the band, that actually happened in 1974. But since Rush had recently wrapped its lengthy "Clockwork Angels" tour last year, the band opted to commemorate the anniversary in 2015.
