Rick Springfield will hit the stage at Chastain Park Amphitheatre Saturday night (he's sharing a bill with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo). But on Friday evening, he stopped by the Buckhead Barnes &Noble to sign copies of his new fiction book, "Magnificent Vibration," chat briefly with the hordes of (primarily female) fans eagerly awaiting their moment with him and sing a couple of songs.

While some of us might have preferred anything other than "Jessie's Girl," the masses spoke and Springfield complied (see video above).

In a quick interview before his visit with fans (see video on the left), Springfield talked about the sequel to "Magnificent Vibration" that he said he just turned into his editor on Friday, as well as the chances of seeing Giraldo -- who plays guitar on the studio version of "Jessie's Girl" -- share the stage with him during the song.

I talked to Rick via phone a couple of weeks ago when he had more time and he expounded on writing his first fiction novel as well as his continued "Stripped Down" tour (Saturday's show is full band and focused on the hits)  and his upcoming return to Australia. Check it out here.
