The Red Hot Chili Peppers have added a spring leg to their tour behind current album, "The Getaway," and will play Atlanta in April.

The new round of dates for the California funk-rockers launches April 12 in Washington, D.C., followed by a show April 14 at Philips Arena.

A fan club pre-sale for the Atlanta date begins at 10 a.m. Nov. 9, with the general onsale starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 11. Tickets are $53-$103 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, the venue box office and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The Chili Peppers last played Atlanta in 2013 during a headlining set at Music Midtown.

Their 11th studio album, "The Getaway," produced by Danger Mouse, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart when it was released in June and has since sold more than 1 million copies worldwide.
