Add Fetty Wap to the list of performers showing up egregiously late to their performances.
The New Jersey rapper performed at Stegeman Coliseum at University of Georgia April 26, but didn't appear on stage until after 10 p.m. – more than 75-minutes past his expected start.
The Athens Banner-Herald reported that UGA has yet to pay the "Trap Queen" performer the $100,000 contracted for a 60-minute performance and is currently in talks with Fetty Wap's management to come to a resolution.
“We had concerns with the brevity,” UGA Director of Student Affairs Communications Stan Jackson told the Banner-Herald last week.
Many students in attendance took to social media to voice their complaints about Fetty Wap being tardy to his own party.
A similar scenario unfolded on May 6 when Lauryn Hill arrived on stage more than two hours late for her concert at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
Fans were outraged at the singer's delayed appearance – which she initially blamed on her driver getting lost. She later posted a missive on Facebook which read, in part, "Because I care so deeply about the artistic process, I scrutinize, have perfectionist tendencies, and want space made for spontaneity, which is not an easy process…"
Concert promoter Live Nation announced Tuesday it would issue refunds for what turned out to be a 40-minute performance due to the 11 p.m. curfew at the outdoor venue.
In January, Madonna angered fans when she showed up at almost 11 p.m. for her concert at Philips Arena. Because the venue doesn't have a curfew, she was able to perform her full two-hour show. However, many in attendance had to leave early to catch MARTA or because they had jobs or other normal responsibilities the next day.
