I believe I speak on behalf of all Durannies when I say, let us rejoice in this news of a release date for the new Duran Duran album.
"Paper Gods" will be released Sept. 18 11 on Warner Bros. Records, the band's debut on the label (the guys pushed the U.S. date up a week to match the rest of the world).
The album, Duran Duran's 14th studio effort, is its first since 2010's "All You Need is Now." The lead single, "Pressure Off," features Atlanta's Janelle Monae (listen to it below), while other tracks spotlight former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, newcomer Kiesza, British singer-songwriter Mr. Hudson and…yes…Lindsay Lohan.

Duran’s Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes recorded the album in London with producers Nile Rodgers and Mark Ronson (who produced “All You Need…”), as well as Josh Blair and Mr. Hudson.
As you can see by the cover art, Duran Duran is going for another one of its puzzling concoctions (see: “Red Carpet Massacre,” “Medazzaland”). Los Angeles-based artist Alex Israel created the cover, which features a collage of images that reference the visual history of the band (see: cherry ice cream…smile, sumo wrestler from the “Girls on Film” video and a tiger sans seven ragged).

The band has also announced a spate of tour dates. Most are in Europe, but they do have a handful of U.S. dates on the West Coast and two festival appearances heading East. How about flying South, boys?
