Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are returning to the days of “The River” with a nine-week tour to support the release of “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection.”

Springsteen and his merry caravan will perform at Philips Arena at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18. Tickets are $59-$154 and will go on sale at 9 a.m. Dec. 11 at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, www.livenation.com, the venue box office and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

“The Ties That Bind…,” released today, is a comprehensive look at Springsteen’s seminal 1980 album, “The River.” The original “River” tour began Oct. 3, 1980, and is regarded as one of Springsteen’s finest, with shows that stretched to four hours and an itinerary that brought the band around the world.

Each night of this “River” tour will be mixed for release on Live.BruceSpringsteen.net as high-quality downloads and CDs. Recordings will be available within days of each performance.

Springsteen, who last played Atlanta in April 2014, will perform on "Saturday Night Live" Dec. 19. It's his third appearance on the show.

The tour also means that E Street Band guitarist Nils Lofgren is postponing his upcoming solo dates, including Jan. 22 at Variety Playhouse.
