Bow Wow announces retirement from rap

Then there's Atlanta rap star and actor Shad Moss (better known as Bow Wow), who on Twitter announced Sunday that he is no longer going to record any more music after one final album. And while his Tweets weren't specific, presumably this means no more touring either. He made the announcement while he was touring in Australia.

He's 29.

Why? He's too busy acting. And he said in a Tweet he never imagined himself still rapping at 30 - as if this is some sort of twisted version of "Logan's Run." (Yes, I made a reference to a 40 year old movie, just to throw you off.)

He turns 30 March 7, 2017.

Bow Wow seems to have focused more on acting in recent years anyway. He was most recently a series regular on CBS's "CSI: Cyber." (The show as cancelled after two seasons.)

He broke out at age 13 in 2000 with a No. 1 single "Bounce With Me" under Atlanta producer Jermaine Dupri, followed by "Bow Wow ("That's My Name"). His first album sold 2.7 million copies. His four other No. 1 hits throughout the 2000s were "Let Me Hold On," "Like You," "Shortie Like Mine" and "I'm a Flirt."
