When Meghan Trainor sings "All About that Bass," she isn't referring to the instrument made famous by Bootsy Collins, Paul McCartney and Sting.

But the “Atlanta Bass Legends” concert coming to the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center at 8 p.m. Oct. 4 will indeed spotlight the instrument that inspires much plucking, thumping and slapping.

Atlanta hip-hop artist Raheem the Dream and his mother, Dr. Zakiyyah Raheem, are spearheading a “pre-tour” that will first play the Civic Center, then Miami’s James L. Knight Center on Jan. 3.

The official “Atlanta Bass Legends” tour is expected to launch Feb. 6 in Jacksonville and return home for its finale March 28 at a venue to be announced.

Artists slated to perform include Raheem The Dream, Kilo Ali, MC Shy D, DJ Taz, DJ Kizzy Rock and Mojo, 69 Boyz, and Uncle Head & Mr. Kue Dog (formerly of Splack Pack).

Tickets for the concert are on sale now for $25-$100 via all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com and 1-800-745-3000.
