In a lengthy speech in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Thursday night, Donald Trump bitterly attacked his main Republican rival Ben Carson, ridiculing Carson's life story and taking a few swings not only at others in the GOP race, but the voters in Iowa as well.

"How stupid are the people of Iowa?" Trump asked during a rally. "How stupid are the people of this country to believe this crap?"

The headlines today in Iowa captured the event:

"Trump to Iowans: Don't fall for Carson's 'crap' - Des Moines Register

"Trump questions Carson's 'pathological temper', faith" - Quad-City Times, Davenport, Iowa

Here's a small video snippet of Trump from his rally, going after Carson:

The rally seemed to horrify some conservatives in Iowa, like radio talk show host Steve Deace.

"There's no other way to describe this other than a complete meltdown," Deace wrote on Facebook. Deace, an influential talk show host, has endorsed Ted Cruz.

"This isn't "Trump being Trump" or "telling it like it is." This is conduct unbecoming of the highest office in the world," Deace added.
