After ESPN became the latest major business to drop its relationship with Donald Trump, the businessman-turned-Republican-Presidential-candidate lashed out at the news media, charging that his words on immigration last month were "deliberately distorted."
"I don't see how there is any room for misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the statement that I made on June 16th during my Presidential announcement speech," Trump said in a lengthy written statement sent to reporters.

"What can be simpler of more accurately stated?" Trump asked in his news release, after quoting himself from his June announcement.
"The Mexican Government is forcing their most unwanted people into the United States. They are, in many cases, criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc."
The statement was issued after ESPN announced that it was moving a celebrity golf tournament - set for next week - from a Trump golf course in Los Angeles.
"We decided it was appropriate to change the venue," ESPN said in a statement. "Diversity and inclusion are core values at ESPN and our decision also supports that commitment."
In his statement, Trump blasted the "weak and very sad" decisions taken by Macy's, NBC, Serta, NASCAR - and now ESPN.
"I have lost a lot during this Presidential run defending the people of the United States," Trump declared, as he doubled down on his earlier comments.
"The last thing Mexico wants is Donald Trump as President," saying he would insure there is "an impenetrable border - only legally approved people will come through easily."
