Facing troubling poll numbers and rumors about the immediate demise of his own campaign, Marco Rubio told supporters on Wednesday at a rally here that he was not about to get out of the GOP race, vowing again to defeat Donald Trump in a winner take all primary here in the Sunshine State.
"It always comes down to Florida," Rubio said to cheers from a crowd in Hialeah, as he thanked voters for supporting him in the past.
"I need you to come out and vote," Rubio said, noting the 99 delegates at stake in Florida next Tuesday, the biggest delegate prize on March 15.
The polls continued to paint a discouraging picture for Rubio, as two new surveys showed Trump with a 23 point lead in Florida.
Only one poll in the last week has showed this race within single digits, as Trump continues to display wide appeal around the nation.

Not far behind Rubio in those polls - and not far away from him on the ground in Florida - was Ted Cruz.
Cruz on Wednesday came into Rubio's backyard and made the case that the Texas Senator was the best choice to take on Donald Trump.
For now, there are some who think Cruz has a better chance to defeat Trump in Florida, though that would be complicated by all the early voting that has already taken place here.
Cruz, Rubio and Trump will be joined by John Kasich at a CNN debate on Thursday night in Miami - maybe the last chance for Rubio to shake up the contours of the GOP race.
