Two days after a recreational drone crash landed on the grounds of the White House, officials at the Federal Aviation Administration very publicly told Americans not to even think about taking out their own drones at the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.
"The Super Bowl is strictly a "No Drone Zone,"" read a missive from the FAA, as the agency issued a Notice to Airmen detailing flight restrictions around the nation's biggest sporting event.

"If you want to see video of the Big Game, watch it on TV. Leave your drone at home," the FAA said.
As for planes flying in the vicinity of the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the FAA sternly warned of criminal and civil penalties for violating temporary flight restrictions for this Sunday's game:
"The FAA may take administrative action, including imposing civil penalties and the suspension or revocation of airmen certificates," read the FAA flight advisory, which also threatened criminal charges - and more.
"The United States Government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft, if it is determined that the aircraft poses an imminent security threat," the FAA notice warned.
