Let the speculation continue.

British actor Idris Elba is rumored — yes, it’s still a rumor — to be the next James Bond after years of fan requests.

In an article published in the London's The Daily Star, director Antoine Fuqua said James Bond film producer Barbara Broccoli believes "it is time" to bring diversity to the 007 role.

“Idris could do it if he was in shape,” Fuqua said. “You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that.”

But again, these are just rumors. There has been no public confirmation.

Still, that didn’t stop eager fans to jump at the long-awaited possibility of the 45-year-old Elba succeeding actor Daniel Craig.

In 2014, Elba told CNN "it would be such an honor" to play Bond.

“I mean what do we have to do here? We have to wear beautiful suits, drive nice cars, chase bad guys and date beautiful women? I dunno, sounds good to me,” he said.
