Idris Elba is about to be a baddie in a “Fast and Furious” spinoff called “Hobbs and Shaw.”

According to Variety magazine, Elba's villain will go up against Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, playing the good guys, special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw.

The film will be directed by David Leitch, director of “Deadpool 2,” according to Variety.

Johnson and Statham worked together as Hobbs and Shaw in the seventh installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, portraying a sometimes-hostile duo. The eighth movie in that series, "The Fate of the Furious," reached theaters last year.

Also called "Fast and Furious 8," part of the movie was filmed in Atlanta. It was the first film in the series not to feature Paul Walker, who died in a fiery single-car crash in Atlanta during the filming of "Furious 7."

“Furious 8” grossed $542 million worldwide during its opening weekend, setting the record for the highest-grossing worldwide opening of all time, according to Wikipedia.

Last year Elba worked on “The Dark Tower,” “Molly’s Game,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” and “The Mountain Between Us.”

Johnson welcomed Elba to the franchise with a tweet:
