Monica has been mostly mum about her divorce, but she opened up about the challenges she’s been facing during a recent episode of “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle.”

While chatting with her mom and a woman who appears to be a counselor, the Atlanta singer shared how difficult the breakup has been.

"It's been some rough weeks," she said in an exclusive VH1 clip from an upcoming episode. "Things in my personal life have been changing, and it has not been easy ... I've been keeping everything to myself, and I feel overwhelmed."

She also said it’s been hard for her to take a breath to process her new life, because she doesn’t want to feel “stuck.”

“I’m everybody’s go-to, and I think that makes people think I’m pretending to be perfect,” she said. “In actuality, I just don’t believe in pausing. Because if you pause, you get stuck.”

In March, the Grammy Award-winning artist filed for divorce from former NBA player Shannon Brown after eight years of marriage. The two have a 5-year-old daughter, Laiyah, together. The songstress has two sons from her previous relationship with Atlanta-based rapper Rocko.
