Eggland's Best Eggs is holding its first “America’s Best Recipe Contest,” asking entrants to submit original recipes using eggs and incorporating ingredients from the state they currently reside in -- we're talking corn, peanuts, peaches, collard greens and Vidalia onions, to name a few.

Categories include Breakfast/Brunch, Appetizer, Main Course, and Dessert and will be judged on criteria such as taste, creativity and the inspiration behind the local recipe ingredients.  The entry phase ends on April 29, after which the highest scoring recipe in each state will be deemed “Best in State” and will be organized into five regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West. The winner -- who will receive $10,000 and a year's supply of eggs -- will be chosen from the "Best in Region" winners.
