Indoor festival. Lobster Week. National Peanut Butter Day. This weekend, there’s lots of fun, food events happening around Atlanta. Add one or all five events to your calendar and be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time. Cheers to weekend—and be safe wherever you go.
Indoor festival: The third annual Callanwolde Arts Festival will be held Jan. 23 – 24. Open to all, the festival will feature artists and demonstrations, music, dance and food trucks with healthy alternatives. Interested in being a very important person? Opt for the VIP preview party, which takes places from 6-9 p.m. tonight at the Callanwolde Mansion. Guests will receive a glass of wine, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and first dibs on artwork. Cocktail party: An Affair of the Art, a collaborative cocktail and art gala between Arts Now and Jerusalem House, will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC). Guests will nibble on gourmet bites, sip cool cocktails, purchase art and more. Tickets, which are $25 - $75, may be purchased here.
Lobster Week: Beginning today through Saturday, Jan. 30, Lure will offer dinner menu specials featuring a variety of lobster dishes. Specials include ricotta gnocchi with lobster knuckles, tarragon and bread crumbs as well as lobster "pour" with whole lobster, fingerling potatoes, corn and cippolini onions. Peanut butter contest: As a kid, Mr. Rogers demonstrated a recipe for peanut butter. I tried the fun activity, but the results were less than yummy. Thankfully, you don't have to suffer through bad peanut butter when Georgia Grinders Premium Nut Butters is available. In honor of National Peanut Butter Day, which is Sunday, Jan. 24, the company will host a contest along with the Southern Peanut Growers Association asking people for their healthy peanut butter brunch recipes or photos.
