The Edgewood late night crowd searching for food after the bars close will soon have a new way to satiate their hunger.

Hungry Ghost, an Asian street food concept from chef Calvin Phan, is set to open by the end of the summer at 345 Edgewood Ave. NE in Atlanta, as first reported by What Now Atlanta. The menu will reflect many of the offerings on the menu at Poor Calvin's, Phan's restaurant at 510 Piedmont Ave. NE in Atlanta, including lobster fried rice.

Phan said Hungry Ghost will start out as a takeout-only spot offering lunch, dinner and late-night options, though he plans to serve brunch soon after opening, and is eyeing creating a rooftop dining space, as well.

The restaurant's name is both a nod to Phan's Vietnamese background and to the idea behind the restaurant.

"In Asia, when people die unnaturally, your spirit is said to wander on the street at night, looking for food," he said.
