Atlanta-based craft beer and wine retailer, Hop City Craft Beer & Wine , is opening its first restaurant concept, Barleygarden Kitchen and Craft Bar, at Avalon, the 86-acre mixed-use development in Alpharetta.

“Branching into both North Fulton and the dynamic Atlanta restaurant scene is a natural next step for Hop City,” said Kraig Torres, founder of Hop City in a statement released this morning. “Our vast selection of draft beers has been a great success at Krog Street Market and we know the Avalon community will enjoy spending evenings on our rooftop patio, sipping local beer and enjoying gourmet food.”

According to the release, the restaurant is set to open in Spring 2017 and will offer "a menu of highly regarded draft beer and locally-sourced, chef-driven food. Barleygarden will also feature a beer garden with lush outdoor space and an open-air rooftop bar."

Here's more from the release:

Since Avalon is an open container community, guests can take their beer to go and shop or enjoy one of Avalon’s Signature Events on the Plaza. Similar to Hop City’s Krog Street Market location, the bar menu will focus on craft cocktails, carefully curated wines by the glass and a constantly-rotating 60 tap beer list including rare and limited selections. A local chef partner will be announced later this year to help curate the food menu.

“At Avalon, we’ve worked hard to create a best-in-class mix of restaurants from Atlanta’s most innovative chefs and entrepreneurs,” said Mark Toro, managing partner at NAP. “Barleygarden Kitchen and Craft Bar’s incredible selection of beer and other craft beverages along with its new culinary offerings will add another destination-worthy dining experience for our guests, residents and office workers.”

Avalon’s expansion is slated to debut in Spring 2017, and will bring additional retail, office and living space to the development as well as The Hotel at Avalon, an Autograph Collection hotel, and the Alpharetta Conference Center. Retailers and restaurants confirmed for the expansion include Brooks Brothers, Urban Outfitters, Rumi’s Kitchen, The Boardroom Salon for Men, Lucky Brand, Levi’s and Brine Fish House.
