Eat at these 4 restaurants before a show to avoid growling

You're at a concert or stage play and in the middle of performance, it happens: your stomach growls.

Naturally, you don’t want to run out for snacks in the middle of your song or that scene, so to prevent this from occurring, eat before you’re entertained. The following four metro Atlanta restaurants are nearby popular venues such as the Fox Theatre, The Buckhead Theatre, Phillips Arena and more, so you’ll be able to eat, walk over and not worry about finding parking again. (By the way, if you need anymore incentive to dine near the Fox Theatre, here are nine more restaurants to choose from.)

Chops Lobster Bar: Conveniently located near The Buckhead Theatre, this steak and seafood restaurant sets the tone for an elegant evening. Patrons can indulge in signature items such as Savannah lump crab cocktail and famous jumbo batter fried lobster tail or sip a glass of wine at the bar.

70 West Paces Ferry Road N.W., Atlanta. 404-262-2675. www.buckheadrestaurants.com/chops-lobster-bar.

Hudson Grille: Get the party started at this boisterous downtown restaurant that’s perfect for pre- and post-game fun. There’s a location practically across the street from Phillips Arena (which is also near Tabernacle) and another in midtown, near Laughing Skull Lounge, Center Stage and the Fox Theatre.

120 Marietta St., Atlanta. 404-221-0102. www.hudsongrille.com.

JP Atlanta: Executive chef Julio Delgado recently released a new global-flavor-meets-southern-technique spring menu at this downtown restaurant. Diners can feast on everything from char grilled octopus with spicy ramps to beef short ribs to a signature burger.

230 Peachtree St. N.W., Atlanta. 404-523-4004. www.jp-atlanta.com.

Atlantic Seafood Company: This spacious seafood and sushi restaurant is great for groups or couples (request one of the booth near the rear of the restaurant) since it is near the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park. Menu items include sushi, a fried seafood platter, bone-in ribeye and tasty chicken spring rolls served with sweet chili sauce (do yourself a favor and order a serving to-go—for a post show snack). As the weather warms, guests can also sit on the patio.
