A new spot for classic American grub is set to open in Marietta next week.
Camps Kitchen and Bar will open around Feb. 6 at 255 Village Pkwy. NE #310, owner Robert Caswick confirmed via email. The restaurant, a sister concept to Hearth Pizza Tavern in Sandy Springs, will serve up "an eclectic American menu with an emphasis on comfort pub grub," Caswick said.
Menu items are slated to include salads, burgers and sandwiches, entrees including teriyaki salmon and chicken parmesan. While the restaurant will have a wood burning pizza oven and the Camp's chef will come from Hearth, the focus of the menu will focus on dishes customers asked for at Hearth other than pizza.
The bar program, focused on classic craft cocktails and will also offer wine and beer, will be headed headed up Jonathan Turner, who also oversees the beverage programs at Midtown restaurants Grain and Tavernpointe .
Caswick describes the decor as "warm, rustic and casual," with a patio and fireplace, in keeping with the building's history of being the neighborhood watering hole.
