After a successful inaugural appearance in Houston last spring, Black Restaurant Week is expanding to Atlanta.
The event was created to help showcase the black culinary industry in America and bring attention to the importance of diversity in the food industry.
From July 31 to August 13, Atlantans will be able to eat their way through various food events that will feature black Atlanta chefs and/or black-owned restaurants. Diners will be able to chose from casual dining options that will cost between $15 and $25 per person, or fine dining options that will range from $35 to $45 per person.

In addition, various events planned for Black Restaurant Week will offer the chance to try some of the best bites from Atlanta chefs and caterers, eat their way through a food truck and music festival and watch bartenders compete to make cocktails using ingredients from local black-owned farms. Black Restaurant Week is also expanding to Oakland and San Francisco California this year to explore the diverse food scene on the west coast.
