Hungry for good food and a film?
The Atlanta Film Festival 's (ATLFF) annual Food On Film event will present a free, special 25th anniversary screening of "Fried Green Tomatoes," which will begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 3 at the Plaza Theatre (1049 Ponce de Leon Ave. N.E., Atlanta). Georgia-native and NBC's "30 Rock" star Jack McBrayer will host the special screening. After, Sweet Auburn BBQ and The Whistle Stop Café , which was featured in the movie, will cater a good ole southern party, complete with barbeque foods and fried green tomatoes. “Fried Green Tomatoes” is an Academy Award-nominated film, primarily produced in Atlanta and Juliette, GA. The movie was directed by Jon Avnet; Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy, Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary-Louise Parker starred in this colorful dramedy.
