A group of young professionals in Atlanta are hosting a party to provide emergency funds to children in need around the world.
United Nations Children's Fund's Next Generation will host ATL Art Party for the second year this weekend.
Recruiting two local DJs and about 50 local artists, the organization is donating all of the proceeds from the event to UNICEF’s Emergency Relief Funds. The funds provide financial support to children around the globe and recently assisted in providing measles vaccines for 9.5 million children in Sudan, according to the organization.

Last year’s inaugural event helped UNICEF to raise more than $60,000 through corporate donors, art and ticket sales. More than 300 people attended. Organizers are hoping to increase those numbers and raise $100,000 this year.
All of the participating artists have donated artwork that will be for sale at the event.
“When we approached the artists and asked them [to donate] we received such positive responses,” Nabilah Jiwani, co-chair of the steering committee for UNICEF's Next Generation in Atlanta, said.
Atlanta residents Jiwani and fellow co-chair Jenn Weizenecker are both a part of Next Generation and have worked to recruit talented artists and promote the event. See all of the participating artists here.
In addition to purchasing art, attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy an open bar and snacks, while listening to music and networking with young professionals.
UNICEF's Next Generation is comprised of local professionals in their 20s and 30s who support the organization’s initiatives through “education, advocacy, sharing, remote volunteering and fundraising.”
