It’s official! Summer Walker confirms pregnancy and addresses why she initially hid it

Let the congratulations roll in for Summer Walker!

The rumors that have been swirling around for months have been confirmed by Walker herself – she hopped on Instagram live to share the exciting news that she’s pregnant. “People asking me if I’m pregnant,” Walker said. “I am and you know I’m very, very, very, very, happy about it.” The rumors of the Atlanta native being pregnant came to a head a few days ago after she posted a picture with her stomach mostly exposed. Soon after, singer/songwriter, Erykah Badu reposted the picture to her Instagram story with the words “FOR MY NEXT ACT.” Badu’s post really raised suspicions because she’s a doula and certified midwife.

It didn’t take long for tons of blogs to pick up on all the context clues and social media users to try and piece it all together. It seems Walker saw all the online chatter and wanted to address the rumors herself. “Very excited about it,” Walker continued. “I’m very very excited because it’s going to be different from how it was before. It’s really peaceful, really happy, lots of help, lots of love.” Walker has a one-year-old with super producer, London on da Track. Their rocky relationship has played out on social media, with Walker questioning London’s parenting skills.

Walker also took the time to address people overstepping their boundaries and violating her privacy. “The only reason I’m even saying anything is that last time I felt very disrespected that people didn’t let me tell that myself,” Walker continued. “People were taking pictures of me in the store — I know it kind of comes with the job [but] people took pictures of me… before I could even announce my pregnancy. I thought that was very disrespectful and it made me very, very, very, very, very upset.”

For the last few months, Walker has been romantically linked to rapper LVRD Pharaoh, whose real name is Larry. Back in November, Walker posted an Instagram picture revealing the two got each other’s names tattooed on their face.
