Drake and 21 Savage announce joint album

It’s official — Drake and 21 Savage announced their joint album, “Her Loss,” set to drop Friday, Oct. 28.
If you’re looking for the announcement on either one of their social media accounts, you won’t find it. The title and release date for the album popped up about midway through their “Jimmy Cooks” video, which was released on 21 Savage’s birthday, Oct. 22. The single comes from Drake’s latest album, “Honestly, Nevermind.” It’s no surprise the two linked up for a video for the song, as it earned the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart – racking up 42.2 million streams, 3 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 6,000 downloads sold in its first week, according to Billboard. The collaboration marked Drake’s 11th Hot 100 No. 1 and 21 Savage’s second. 21 Savage previously made it to the top of the Hot 100 as featured on Post Malone’s “Rockstar,” which ruled that spot for eight weeks beginning in October 2017.

This isn’t the first time the two rappers have linked up on music — it has become a regular occurrence for them to appear on each other’s songs. They have collaborated on songs such as “Knife Talk” from Drake’s album “Certified Lover Boy,” “Mr. Right Now” from 21 and Metro Boomin’s album “Savage Mode II” and singles such as “Sneakin’” and “Issa.”

The two also recently teamed up when Drake surprised fans at a 21 Savage concert during Morehouse and Spelman’s homecoming in Atlanta.
The pair have clearly seen success throughout the years as they’ve worked together, so a joint album was the natural next step. If you missed the announcement and the official video for “Jimmy Cooks,” you can check them out below!
