It turns out you don’t have to travel far for a Tuscan culinary experience.
Coming to the United States for the first time, “Opera in the Kitchen” is a cooking workshop paired with live opera that’s coming soon to Avenue East Cobb.
Partnering with “Steps in Tuscany,” a tourism company in Italy, Olea Oliva will host the four-hour workshop in their shop from March 7-18.

Tickets cost $199.50 per person and guests can register online at oleaoliva.com.
Guided by Chef Lucrezia, guests will learn how to make a full menu of authentic Italian food including dessert and different kinds of homemade pasta. Additionally, guests will start the night with a traditional Italian moka coffee, enjoy an aperitif and wine throughout the four-hour event.
Each workshop will have nine guests, providing an intimate dinner and cooking experience. After cooking their dinner, guests will view a live, in-shop performance by famous opera singer Maurizio Marchini.
Maurizio Marchini went viral in March 2020 for singing “Nessun Dorma” from his balcony during the height of the pandemic. He has performed private concerts for Grammy-winner John Legend and singer Leona Lewis, who won “The X Factor UK” in 2006.
“This Tuscan Culinary event is more than just a beautiful and memorable evening, it is the culmination of three different groups of people who each have a passion, a dream and the guts to go after it,” a press release for the event said.
Olea Oliva is an olive oil and vinegar shop located in Avenue East Cobb that carries flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars from all over the world. They host events and workshops that combine Ayurveda, a traditional medicinal system originating in India, and Mediterranean cooking.
Olea Oliva is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12 p.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays.
