Atlanta Braves announce HBCU Night in August

Celebrate HBCU pride with school colors and a custom HBCU bobblehead

HBCU mascots now have their own official bobbleheads, and you can own one.Florida A&M Rattlers can purchase Venom the Rattlesnake.North Carolina A&T State University students and alum can own Aggie the Bulldog.Fayetteville State University Broncos are in the first batch of bobbleheads, too.Each bobblehead is $35, with an $8 flat fee for shipping

Sure, most nights, the fans who pack Truist Park are decked out in the Braves’ red, white and blue team colors. But for one night, the stands will instead be filled with Morehouse maroon, Spelman Columbia blue and Fort Valley State gold.

August 23 is HBCU Night at Truist Park, and students and alumni alike are being asked to “wear your school colors to represent your HBCU with pride.”

In addition to a great night out at the game, attendees will also take home a unique Atlanta Braves HBCU majorette bobblehead.

In addition, $4 from every ticket package will be donated to the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance.

The alliance, according to its website, supports HBCUs through “scholarship fundraising, alumni reclamation and student recruitment in addition to aligning with the National HBCU Alumni Alliances by supporting and participating in programs that promote higher education, encourage healthy living, and fighting hunger.”
