3322 Roswell Road, Marietta This 13-acre park is heavily used for a reason. Its grounds are filled with slate and natural-surface walking trails, pavilions, open grassy areas, creek overlooks and a playground. The park also frequently hosts community events and classes. More details here
Steve and Virginia Tumlin Park at Hickory Hills | sunup to sundown
400 Chestnut Hill Road, Marietta Tumlin Park proves a park doesn't have to be big to be great to visit. The large playground, multiple tennis courts, sports fields and grassy play area are family friendly and parking is abundant. More details here

Smyrna
Taylor-Brawner Park | 7 a.m.-11 p.m.
3180 Atlanta Road, Smyrna Built on the grounds of an old psychiatric hospital, Taylor-Brawner Park is a 10-acre space that is less than 10 years old. Today, the park is home to two picnic pavilions, a gazebo, walking trail, amphitheater and playground. The space is also home to the city's Food Truck Tuesdays and the frequent site of movies under the stars. More details here
Kennesaw
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park | sunup to sundown
900 Kennesaw Mountain Drive, Kennesaw You can hike or drive up the mountain, explore Civil War history, watch an artillery demonstration or play in the abundant grassy space. To make your visit more interesting for kids, pick up a Junior Ranger or Wee Ranger Booklet in the Visitor Center. More details here

Swift-Cantrell Park | 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
3140 Old 41 Highway, Kennesaw Forty-two acres of parkland are the home to one of the metro area's best skate parks, two playgrounds, picnic pavilions, a dog park, a one-mile 12-foot-wide trail, a half-mile 8-foot-wide loop trail and acres of grassy play space. The park frequently hosts the city of Kennesaw's community events, including movies under the stars, festivals, races and playgroups. More details here
Acworth
Cauble Park | 7 a.m.- 11 p.m., Memorial Day-Labor Day
4425 Beach St., Acworth The shore of Lake Allatoona is home to Cauble Park, which offers 25 acres of recreation space, including fishing points, two playgrounds, a boating ramp, sandy beach and an open play area. There is no lifeguard at the beach, but swimming at your own risk is permitted from sunup to sundown during the months the park is open. No pets are allowed on the beach. During the summer, the park is home to the city's Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival and Fourth of July celebration. On the weekends, there is a parking fee for nonresidents. More details here
