From parties to fireworks, there are several ways to commemorate the end of the year. But there are some cities that do it best. Atlanta is one of them, because it has been named one of the best places to celebrate New Year’s Eve by WalletHub.
The personal finance site determined it’s results by comparing the 100 biggest cities based on 25 key indicators, including most restaurants per capita, most nightlife options per capita and lowest average price per New Year’s Eve party ticket.
Those metrics were then placed into three major categories: entertainment and food; costs; and safety and accessibility.
Atl was No. 3, overall, thanks to its high entertainment and food ranking. It came in at No. 5 on that list.
Here’s a snapshot of the Atlanta findings:
Legality of fireworks: No. 1
New Year’s Eve events per capita: No. 5
Restaurants per capita: No. 6
Luxury shopping and gourmet-food stores per capita: No. 8
Nightlife options per capita: No. 10
Which cities took first and second place?
New York was No. 1, while Orlando was No. 2. Both places earned top honors for most restaurants per capita and most nightlife options per capita. Both also have a slew of luxury shops and gourmet food stores to choose from.
