The Georgia state Board of Education is holding committee meetings today with the full board meeting on Thursday morning.

One big item on the board’s agenda on Thursday is discussion of the standardized test that will replace the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test next year. Board members will not make a final decision on the test but instead are setting the parameters for what they want in a test.

Thursday’s meeting begins at 8 a.m. in the 20th-floor boardroom of the east tower at 205 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive in Atlanta. Committees on the budget, charters, operations and rules will be held throughout the day today.
