Republicans in the state House filled two key positions Friday to help lead their majority caucus.

Members picked state Rep. Matt Ramsey, R-Peachtree City, to be their new majority whip — someone who rounds up votes for bills backed by caucus leaders. He replaced Rep. Edward Lindsey, R-Atlanta, who stepped down from leadership as he campaigns to get elected to Congress.

Members tapped Rep. Matt Hatchett, R-Dublin, to be their new caucus chairman. He replaced former Rep. Donna Sheldon, R-Dacula, who resigned her House seat entirely as she also campaigns for a seat in Congress.

Rep. Sam Teasley, R-Marietta, was elected caucus vice chairman.
