Early voting in Georgia is off to a strong start in Georgia, although not quite as strong as first suggested. An afternoon update from the Secretary of State’s Office showed more than 45,000 early votes cast ahead of the Nov. 4 election — not 96,000 as it originally reported Tuesday morning, in what turned out to be a data hiccup. A majority of voters so far have mailed in absentee ballots, but the “in person” voting that kicked off Monday statewide will climb before the state’s early voting period ends Oct. 31.
