Robert Mikell is the new commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services after Gov. Nathan Deal this week announced two major changes.
Greg Dozier, the outgoing Driver Services commissioner was named assistant commissioner and chief of staff of the Department of Corrections, a move Deal called a promotion. Dozier moves from an agency with a budget of about $60 million to Corrections and it’s $1.15 billion budget.
“Georgia’s Department of Corrections is one of the state’s largest agencies, working to create a safer Georgia by managing offenders and providing opportunities for positive change,” Deal said in a statement. “Greg has ably led DDS, and this promotion allows the state to use his talents to a further extent.”
Mikell has been deputy commissioner of Driver Services since 2007 and previously worked in the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
