Spurred by the Penn State sex abuse scandal, a bill filed in the state Senate would give victims more time to report alleged crimes.
Senate Bill 316 would extend the statute of limitations related to sex crimes against children, giving victims 10 years from their 18th birthday to report abuse and 15 years if the crime involved forcible rape. The bill is sponsored by Sen. Charlie Bethel, R-Dalton, who said last week that he intended to file it.
