The Georgia General Assembly’s noteworthy passage this year of transit legislation has generated significant interest and discussion among metro Atlantans who’re either victimized regularly by our epic traffic congestion, are working to reduce it, or both.
The reactions include a number of guest columns on transportation and transit. The AJC published some of them last Sunday, and we do so again today.
Our latest package includes a reminiscence — and a look ahead — by a former Atlanta mayor who’s been called the “father” of MARTA. An Emory University faculty member explores the potential of driverless cars in the aftermath of a fatal collision. And a Republican businessman and philanthropist from a competitor city of metro Atlanta extolls the virtues of a planned high-speed rail line in Texas.
