President Barack Obama signed a new federal education law that retired the controversial No Child Left Behind and ushered in the Every Student Succeeds Act. The new law limits federal intervention in education and lets states set their own course. I discuss whether that helps or hurts students. A public health expert discusses the deficiencies in how sex ed is taught in many Georgia schools. And readers voice their concerns over the state possibly moving to a merit-based pay systems for its teachers.
