It's festival season, Gwinnett — here are a few unique events that are right around the corner.
Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival: This fabulously fall event runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 30. Check out the brand new "Spookley's Funtastic Kid's Carnival" — which features inflatables, candy and boardwalk games — as well as storytelling events, a pie-eating contest and the "Dance-A-Long Party Parade."
All of the regular Stone Mountain Park attractions will also be open. Visit in a costume to get "adventure pass" admission for $21.95.
Stone Mountain Park is at 1000 Robert E. Lee Blvd. in Stone Mountain.
Repticon: The gathering that celebrates everything creepy and crawly returns on Oct. 15 and 16. Visit the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds to check out (and buy) snakes, lizards and a little bit of everything else.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. The convention is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The fairgrounds are at 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.
Full Moon Party at Lanier Islands: Inspired by the original "full moon parties" in Key West, Florida, the Oct. 15 event will offer live entertainment, fire breathers, jugglers, beachside bonfires — and drinks, of course.
Festivities start at 3 p.m. A $20 cover charge applies, but admission is free for season pass holders.
