It's officially official, Snellville -- Cook Out is here.

The greasy-but-delicious fast food chain opened for business on Saturday, a spokesperson confirmed. That came after some confusion Friday, when the city of Snellville prematurely posted on Facebook that the restaurant would open that day.

The restaurant is at 2019 Scenic Highway, near the intersection with Dogwood Road. It is the North Carolina-based chain's first location in Gwinnett County.

The eatery is just one of several that have recently opened or started construction in the area.

The new Snellville location is just one of several new restaurants that have recently opened or are under construction in the area.

A Zaxby's opened last week in the nearby Park Place shopping center, right next to a Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers that opened earlier this year. A new Cracker Barrel is also planned for that shopping center.

Culver's — of "ButterBurger" and custard fame — is under construction at Scenic Highway and Scenic Pines Drive.

Across the highway from there, a Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q opened recently, and Ovation, a dine-in movie theater concept from Carmike Cinemas, is also under construction.

A Taco Bell is under construction next to Cook Out. The city of Snellville wrote on Facebook last week that there was "no firm date yet" for its opening.
