Free Comic Book Day: Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, and the city of Lawrenceville will celebrate by "breaking the record for the most comic books given away in a single day throughout the entire Southeast." 

Duluth Art Week: Duluth Art Week starts Saturday, and the city is celebrating with art showcases, live music and food from local restaurants. Festivities are downtown and run from 11 to 5 p.m.

Woofstock: The city of Suwanee and Star 94's annual event is exactly what it sounds like -- an outdoor dog party. Festivities run form noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and include multiple dock-diving and Frisbee demonstrations and live music from Ben Rector.

Biggest dog, smallest dog and pet/owner lookalike contests are also involved.

BBQ in Auburn: The "Backyard BBQ History and Heroes" BBQ contest -- which pits local amateurs against each other -- begins at 1o a.m. Saturday in downtown Auburn. The event also includes live music and activities for kids.

Scamper Against Cancer at Coolray Field: This one isn't exactly free, but it's for a good cause. Go to Lawrenceville's Coolray Field on Saturday for the 6th annual Scamper Against Cancer 5K, the proceeds of which will go to the family of John Bryan, an Archer High School senior who is battling cancer.

Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. The 5K starts at 8 a.m.
