The Mall of Georgia’s food court will undergo a “major transformation,” parent company Simon announced.

The area will be “reimagined” as “The Dining Pavillion,” a press release said this week. The makeover will include a “fresh color palette” and a variety of seating options, including “bar-height” seating, communal tables and banquettes.

The renovations will also feature energy-efficient LED lighting in modern fixtures and new tile flooring. The family and men’s restrooms will get new lighting features and a new coat of paint.

The mall will also be adding a fire pit, new synthetic turf and a children's play area to the Village, an outdoor area where community events like concerts and movies under the stars are held.

“Our goal is to continually evolve as a shopping, dining and entertainment destination, both for our local community and across the southeast,” said Mall of Georgia General Manager John DiCioccio in a press release.

The renovations are expected to be complete in late 2017. The mall will remain open during the project.
