MARTA expands service for Atlanta’s New Year’s Eve celebrations

They expect 100,000 revelers to attend the Peach Drop.

Looking to celebrate on New Year’s Eve but don’t want to drive? MARTA’s got you covered.

The transit agency will offer additional rail and bus service from 5 a.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday to accommodate several New Year's Eve events, including the Falcons/Panthers game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Xscape concert at Philips Arena and the Peach Drop at Woodruff Park.

All MARTA rail lines will provide more frequent service, and additional trains will be added as needed. Buses will be rerouted around the park, and additional buses and mobility vehicles will be on standby to offer transportation to overflow crowds.

MARTA suggests buying a round-trip ticket at the beginning of the night to avoid long lines on the return trip. To ease congestion at rail stations, it also urges passengers to depart by the same route they arrived.

The last trains for the evening will depart all stations at 2 a.m. Monday. The agency will clear all stations before the last run to make sure no one is stranded.
