One person was killed Tuesday morning when a gas pump exploded, the Savannah Morning News reported.

An SUV hit the pump at a BP gas station at DeRenne Avenue and Bull Street after it cut across a street and collided with another car, according to the report.

The fire was extinguished, but officials were trying to determine if there was more than one victim in the SUV, the paper reported.

Two people were inside the gas station when the pump exploded, according to the report.
