The National Bar Association awarded DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James last weekend for his work to improve opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color.

James was honored with the “My Brother’s Keeper” award on Saturday during the bar association’s annual convention in Atlanta.

James has created a county anti-recidivism court that is designed to give young criminal offenders a second chance if they complete several requirements, including community service, behavior modification classes and life skills training.
