Cobb considers condemnation for bridge to SunTrust Park
Cobb County’s Department of Transportation is asking commissioners to approve condemnation proceedings for portions of three properties needed to build a bridge over Interstate 285, from the county’s convention center to SunTrust Park and the Braves mixed-use development.
Commissioners will vote on the measure Tuesday night.
Interim Cobb transportation director Jim Wilgus said the county is negotiating the sale with property owners, but he wants the option of taking the property through legal action in case those negotiations break down.
