Bills that could create three new metro Atlanta cities will get a hearing in the Senate State and Local Government Operations Committee Thursday.

The bills would authorize the incorporation of Tucker (House Bill 515) and LaVista Hills (House Bill 520) in DeKalb County and South Fulton (House Bill 514) in Fulton County. All three bills passed the House of Representatives last week.

If approved by the committee, the bills would still need full Senate approval and the governor’s signature. Voters would have the final say about whether to form the new cities in November.
